September 2006 Public Forum and The Henry G. Friesen International Prize in Health Research

Members of FCIHR assembled at the National Gallery of Canada, in Ottawa, this past September for our annual Public Forum. This year, Dr. Joseph B. Martin, Dean, Harvard School of Medicine and inaugural winner of The Henry G. Friesen Prize in Health Research, delivered a lecture entitled "Brain Disease: Health Research Policy for the Public Good." This lecture was followed by a reception in the Watercourt Foyer and dinner at the Rideau Club. Here are some photos of the day's events.

Dr. Martin's presentation, entitled Brain Disease: Health Research Policy for the Public Good, was a well-paced blend of technical information, ideas, philosophies, and reflections on personal experiences and achievements that easily held the audiences attention.

Lively discussion followed the Public Forum at the Coffee reception in the Watercourt Foyer.
